Pengembang Bitcoin Unlimited Menjelaskan Isu Block Size

Beberapa hari yang lalu, pool mining Bitcoin.com berjalan dalam kesalahan yang tidak terduga. Sebuah blok besar melebihi ukuran 1mb dihasilkan karena bug yang muncul dari kode klien Bitcoin Unlimited yang baru. Masalah ini dapat diperbaiki dengan cepat, namun memicu banyak pertanyaan. BU kini sudah memberikan penjelasan resmi mengenai masalah ini. Langkah yang baik dari pengembang yang dengan segera mengatasi masalah ini dengan serius, meskipun tidak ada kerusakan besar yang telah terjadi.

Dua hari yang lalu, komunitas Bitcoin mengalami kepanikan. Dugaan yang beredar di Reddit mengenai kepanikan yang terjadi ini bahwa Bitcoin Unlimited berusaha untuk melakukan hard fork pada blockchain. Namun itu hanya sebuah isu saja dan tidak terjadi sama sekali, meskipun itu bisa menjadi salah satu kemungkinan yang terbaik bagi jaringan Bitcoin. Masalah ini muncul karena bug di Bitcoin client Unlimited yang terbaru tercipta, blok tersebut lebih besar dari 1mb (ukuran block size saat ini) dan membuat beberapa masalah pada jaringan. Dan yang lebih mengejutkannya lagi, pool mining Bitcoin.com telah mengalami kehilangan dana lebih dari 10 bitcoin saat masalah itu terjadi.

Ternyata, bug ini ditemukan dalam repositori GitHub Bitcoin Unlimited. Bug ini sama seperti yang bug yang menyebabkan masalah fork pada bitcoin pada tahun 2013 lalu. Bug ini mengubah sejumlah ruang cadangan dalam transaksi Coinbase ketika sebuah blok itu dibuat.

Karena masalah ini, pool mining Bitcoin.com mengalami sebuah error pada sebuah blok yang terlalu besar ukurannya. Dengan ukuran sebesar 1.000.023 byte ini, bisa menyebabkan penolakan oleh node Bitcoin Core pada jaringan Bitcoin. Node melakukan penerimaan blok yang berlebihan. Yang cukup menariknya lagi, para penambang masih melanjutkan pencarian blok baru.

Namun masalah ini sudah dapat diatasi sekarang, dan semua node yang terpengaruh akan masuk ke dalam daftar putih. Ini telah menjadi pelajaran berharga bagi para pengembang BU, untuk menghindari masalah update client terbaru agar tidak terulang kembali.

Untuk saat ini, para pengembang BU berencana untuk melakukan review mengenai masalah ini. Setelah selesai, mereka akan mempublikasikan rincian tambahan mengenai perubahan proses pengembangan dan pengujian. Upgrade yang aman ke blok yang lebih besar tetap menjadi prioritas nomor satu. Untungnya, tidak ada kerusakan yang lebih parah lagi dari masalah tersebut.

The Power of the Free Sample

13 years ago, when I was working in the fire alarm business, I was walking through a mall after finishing a job in a department store, when I was approached by a Chinese girl holding something on a toothpick. “You like free sample?” I accepted that morsel of orange chicken, and it was the best Chinese food I had ever tasted in my life. That was my first time ever trying food from Panda Express, and I’ve been eating there ever since.

I later became the pastor of a church and held soul-winning events all over America. At these events, we all met for lunch at Panda Express. Little did that young lady know, she was making thousands of dollars for her company with that one free sample.

Sometimes people will look at how many CDs, DVDs, and flash drives our church gives out and question whether we are spending too much money on those items. They are underestimating the power of the free sample. Businesses give out free samples all the time with great results. We aren’t trying to make a profit, but we ARE trying to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

People often get interested in Bible preaching after first hearing it at home. Many of them start coming to church as a result. In the early days of our church when only a handful of people were meeting in my living room, I made some preaching CD’s, which I displayed on a rack. I wasn’t sure that anyone would want them, and they sat there untouched for a while, even though I announced that they were free. One day, a church member named Amanda took a bunch of the CD’s home to give to her mom. The next Sunday, Amanda’s mom was in church with her.

One flash drive loaded with 25 or 26 hours of preaching could result in a chain of events that could change someone’s life. Wouldn’t you say that toothpick with the orange chicken was a pretty good investment? It may have taken me years to try Panda Express on my own, but instead they came to me.

There is definitely a spiritual application with the Panda Express story. We aren’t trying to make money, but we ARE trying to make a difference for the Kingdom of God. We don’t just wait for people to come to us—we go to them. We give people the gospel at their door, and we also give out free samples.

When someone gets saved at one of our door-to-door soul winning marathons or if we come across someone who is already saved, we give them a sermon flash drive. Once people start listening to biblical preaching, they often get under conviction about the fact that they are not attending a local church, or perhaps they realize that they need to change churches. Also, we hope that people will pass our materials on to their unsaved friends and family members who might receive Christ after hearing the salvation messages.

I know of many people who have gotten saved after someone gave them one of our documentaries. Countless people are now attending independent fundamental Baptist churches across the country as a result of hearing my preaching on church attendance. Many of these people are now soul winning themselves every single week. Handing out preaching samples works and will continue to be one of the most important financial investments we make.

Harga Bitcoin Mulai Stabil, Apakah Pasar Cina Yang Menjadi Faktor Kestabilan?

Pasar bursa di Cina telah mengenakan biaya perdagangan dan kini kita memasuki periode stabilitas harga Bitcoin.

Bursa Cina mulai mengenakan biaya untuk para investor dan pedagang nya pada 24 Januari 2017. Langkah ini mengikuti keputusan dari Bank Rakyat China yang sudah melakukan pemeriksaan di beberapa bursa. Keputusan bursa Cina untuk mengenakan biaya jelas merupakan langkah pertahanan dalam bisnis dan sesuai dengan tuntutan bank sentral.

Perdagangan Mulai Melambat

Efek nyata dari pengenaan biaya oleh beberapa bursa di Cina seperti Huobi, BTCC dan OkCoin telah memicu penurunan volume perdagangan.

Kita sekarang memasuki era baru di mana perdagangan yang spekulatif mungkin tidak akan terjadi dalam waktu dekat ini.

Namun satu-satunya kekhawatiran yang masih kita rasakan bahwa pasar lain seperti Bursa di Jepang masih memiliki zero-fee perdagangan, yang berpotensi membuat lonjakan volume perdagangan di sana.

Penurunan Volatilitas

Menurunnya volatilitas pada Bitcoin bahkan di tengah penurunan volume merupakan hal yang baik. PoW Blockchain Rentan Terhadap Serangan

Proof of Work dari blockchain bisa saja rentan terhadap “Balance Attack.” Sekelompok peneliti dari University of Sydney telah menerbitkan sebuah rincian Paper mengenai serangan dari jenis penyerangan yang baru.

Balance Attack biasanya menargetkan node dengan daya pertambangan yang seimbang. Dengan menunda jaringan komunikasi antara subkelompok node, serangan itu memaksa pembelanjaan ganda pada proof of work blockchain dari Ethereum dan Bitcoin. Kajian teoritis ini didasarkan pada konfigurasi dan statistik terkait lainnya yang mirip dengan infrastruktur blockchain yang dimanfaatkan oleh konsorsium R3.

Para peneliti sudah mendukung temuan teoretis mereka dengan menjalankan sebuah aktual setup rantai privat Ethereum dengan parameter yang mirip dengan model teoritisnya. Menurut Paper tersebut, penyerang dapat memilih untuk mengkomunikasikan pesan yang berbeda ke dua sub kelompok node dengan daya pertambangan yang seimbang. Untuk melakukan itu, penyerang harus mengeluarkan dan menyiarankan transaksi ke salah satu subkelompok yang sudah diberi label sebagai “subkelompok transaksi”. Secara bersamaan, ia akan melakukan pertambangan pada subkelompok lain yang disebut “blok subkelompok”. Melanjutkan siaran secara selektif selama periode waktu yang akan menyebabkan blok subkelompok itu untuk membuat rangkaian yang diciptakan oleh subkelompok transaksi.

Selama proses tersebut berjalan, penyerang dapat memanfaatkan protokol GHOST untuk mengisolasi cabang blockchain dari sisa node. Cabang yang terisolasi akan muncul kemudian node akan saling bersaing dengan yang lain untuk mempengaruhi proses seleksi cabang. Dengan mempengaruhi pemilihan cabang, Balance Attack akan mengganggu pertahanan dari blockchain utama, menulis ulang transaksi sebelumnya yang pada gilirannya akan membuka jaringan untuk memulai serangan pembelanjaan ganda. Dalam rangka untuk menjalankan Balance Attack agar sukses, penyerang akan membutuhkan setidaknya 20 menit dan memiliki kontrol minimal 5 persen dari daya hashing jaringan yang ada.

Teori Balance Attack ini memperlihatkan kerentanan protokol Ethereum dan blockchain privat pada khususnya. Namun, metode yang sama juga berpotensi dapat mengganggu blockchain Bitcoin, jika penyerang memiliki daya hashing yang cukup.

I preached a sermon recently, exposing the false doctrines and weird teachings of the Hindu holy book, “the Bhagavad Gita.” Like other false religions, Hinduism is Satanic.

6 False Teachings of the Bhagavad Gita

1) The Lord of the Bhagavad Gita is the Devil himself.
2) Death doesn't matter, so killing isn't a big deal. (It’s just like changing clothes.)
3) We should not care about the fruits of our labor, which is a socialist philosophy.
4) Your personal, mystical experiences are more important than the scriptures.
5) You should worship your inner being or “self” as God.
6) It gives you the false hope that if you do good deeds, you will not be damned.

The so-called "Lord" of this book calls himself “the king of snakes.” Here is another quote from the Bhagavad Gita where he talks about himself:

“I am the cow that fulfills all desires... I am the cosmic serpent... I am the god of death... I am born among the demons.” (Chapter 10)

Here is another quote from the book where the so-called lord is being addressed:

“Oh Lord, I see within your body all the gods and every kind of living creature. I see the creator seated on a lotus. I see the ancient sages and the celestial serpents.”(Chapter 11)

According to the Bible, the great serpent is Satan. Hindus are not worshiping the God we worship. The lord of the Bhagavad Gita is the Devil himself!

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12:9

How do you witness to a Hindu? You do it the same way you witness to everyone else. We don’t need a customized soul-winning plan for every religion because the Romans road is a one size fits all. The same plan of salvation that I present to a Catholic, a Jew, or a Jehovah’s witness is the same one I give to a Hindu. It’s the same Gospel that everyone needs to hear. I always recommend going through the same basic plan of salvation with everyone, and then tagging on at the end any issues that you need to deal with regarding their specific religion. For example, after I go through the basic plan of salvation with a Jehovah's Witness, I then spend a little extra time emphasizing the deity of Christ. At the end of preaching the Gospel to a Hindu, I emphasize the fact that they must trust Christ ALONE and must reject the Hindu gods.

Hindus are tough to reach, but it is possible. I ran into several people down in Guyana, including Pastor Ram Angad, who were raised Hindu but ended up getting saved. Hindus need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They need to be told that it’s Heaven or Hell, not reincarnation. They need to realize that Jesus Christ is the one true God and put their faith in him alone for salvation.

Perhitungan Node Bitcoin Unlimited Sudah Menyentuh Angka Tertinggi

Node Bitcoin merupakan bagian integral dari jaringan, karena dengan node tersebut transaksi bisa disiarkan ke pengguna lain di seluruh dunia. “Masalah” di antara Bitcoin Core dan Bitcoin Unlimited, itu selalu menarik untuk kita saksikan. Tampaknya BU kini telah mendapatkan beberapa dukungan tambahan, karena mereka kini sudah mencapai node jaringan tertinggi.

Jika sejumlah besar dari node berjalan pada server perusahaan yang sama, ada kemungkinan akan terjadi sentralisasi.

Namun, angka tersebut masih cukup kecil jika kita bandingkan dengan node Bitcoin Core pada jaringannya. BC kini sudah mencapi 4759 node, angka ini tampaknya naik secara perlahan selama beberapa bulan terakhir. Semua masalah ini masih dipertimbangkan, Unlimited merupakan “alternatif” solusi Bitcoin yang populer untuk saat ini.

Pertanyaan besarnya bagaimana kita akan berkembang dan keluar dari masalah ini. Dan solusi manakah yang akan kita terapkan pada jaringan Bitcoin, melihat stagnasi yang mulai timbul pada Segwit saat ini.

Garrett in Guyana: Days 14-16

Wednesday night was the first night of the 40-day Revival in Guyana. Brother Garrett Kirchway and one of the pastors of New Testament Baptist Church went out soul winning a few hours before the service. First, they gave a lady the gospel, and she got saved. Then, they asked if they could also talk to her husband who was working in the yard. He was from Venezuela and spoke only Spanish, but Brother Kirchway had a Spanish Bible and gave him the gospel using the newly saved wife as a translator. Not only did that couple get saved, but they both showed up that night at the revival service.

The first night of the revival went very well. They had just over a hundred people show up. Five people were saved at the service for a total of seven salvations that day, and three people got baptized in the beautiful new baptistery.

The dinner was chow mein and rice cooked outdoors in large woks on Guyanese-style wood burning stoves. The beverage they served with it was passion fruit juice. The ladies in the church worked hard all day to prepare this meal, which didn’t disappoint.

Brother Garrett Kirchway preached on the end times, and the people were riveted. The other sermons he has prepared for the revival cover the following topics: Once Saved Always Saved, Baptism, Manna/Bible Reading, Soul-Winning, Birth Control, Believe vs. Repent, Persecution, Sodomy, Blessed are They That Do his Commandments, Set No Wicked Thing Before Mine Eyes, Giving to the Poor, Bible Prophecy Foundations, and Laziness.

On the second day of the revival, they saw a total of four people saved. Interestingly, a young lady who Brother Kirchway won to the Lord before the church service happened to be the sister of someone he had gotten saved the day before. Pastor Ram Angad drove through the community with a bullhorn reminding people about that night’s service, and they had a larger number show up this time—about 130. Brother Kirchway preached again, and the dinner was a stir-fry with chicken, which he said was phenomenal.

The third day of the revival was the biggest day so far because there were 14 salvations and 5 baptisms! People are getting saved each day both before and after the revival services, both through door-to-door soul winning and at the service itself. Brother Kirchway is looking forward to reinforcements arriving from the USA, so that they can reach higher numbers of people out door-to-door.

The excitement is building as the revival continues, and they are hoping the attendance numbers will keep increasing as people invite their friends and family members. Every week or so during the revival, New Testament Baptist Church is going to give out a bike for those who bring the most visitors to church. This promotion is called “Pack the Pew.”

Volume Bitcoin Berpindah Ke Bursa No-Fee Yang Baru

Menurut sebuah data yang ada, volume perdagangan Bitcoin mulai bergeser ke beberapa bursa yang baru.

Menyusul sebuah keputusan dari bursa pertukaran yang berbasis di Cina untuk mengakhiri praktek perdagangan tanpa biaya (atas permintaan bank sentral negara itu), pesaing mereka yang kurang dikenal kini mulai mengklaim telah menempati tempat teratas dalam hal kegiatan transaksi.

Sebagai buntut dari permasalahan bursa besar yang kini telah menambahkan biaya perdagangan – BTC100 dan CHBTC – dua pasar yang berbasis di China ini, kini telah naik pamor ke posisi nomor satu dan nomor dua mengenai volume perdagangan, menurut data yang ditunjukkan oleh CoinMarketCap dan website perusahaan tersebut.

BTC100, yang menempati posisi teratas, mempunyai volume lebih dari 36.000 BTC selama 24 jam terakhir, dan CHBTC, diposisi ke dua, dengan volume kira-kira sebanyak 29.000 BTC.

Sebaliknya, Poloniex, Bitfinex dan BTCC, mempunyai volume sebanyak 20.000 BTC, 9.000 BTC dan 8.000 BTC.

Analis memperkirakan bahwa bursa ini mungkin akan menarik minat dari Bank Rakyat China, yang kemungkinan akan mendorong pasar ini untuk mulai memberlakukan biaya perdagangan mereka sendiri.

Tim Enneking, ketua Crypto Asset Management, menjelaskan rantai ini seperti peristiwa yang tak dapat terelakkan. “Ini adalah harga dari sebuah kesuksesan,” katanya.

Preaching & Soul-Winning Event in Trinidad

Preaching Service

I will be preaching on Friday, March 3, 2017, in Trinidad and Tobago. On that Friday night at 7:00 p.m., I’m going to be preaching in the "Blanchisseuse room" at the Courtyard Marriott hotel on Audrey Jeffers Highway, Invaders Bay, Port of Spain, Trinidad.

If you live anywhere in Trinidad or even elsewhere in the Caribbean, I’d love for you to join us at that preaching service if at all possible. I appreciate the sacrifices people make to attend these events, and it’s great to meet like-minded believers from other parts of the world.

Soul-Winning Event

Also, the next morning on Saturday, March 4th, we’ll be meeting in the hotel lobby at 9:30 a.m. to go out soul-winning. If you’ve never been soul-winning, this is a great opportunity to get out there and try it. We will have a few people with us that know how to do the talking, so if you want to be a silent partner, just show up at that hotel on Saturday morning, and I’ll send you out with someone else who is a more experienced soul winner.

“After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.” Luke 10:1

This will be my second time visiting Trinidad, and I look forward to getting together with the people I met on my last visit and hopefully also seeing some new faces at the events. These type of events are not only a great way to spread the gospel and gain soul-winning experience, but they are also an opportunity to have fellowship with other Christians. For those of you who are single: sometimes sparks fly at these events--In fact, I’m told a couple recently get engaged at a soul-winning marathon held in the United States.

Again, we have a preaching service at 7:00 p.m. on that Friday night and soul winning on Saturday morning. We should have lots of preaching flash drives and preaching DVDs to give away as well as a few of our films. I recently updated the Faithful Word Baptist Church events page. We have so many exciting events planned for this year, and we want you to stay up to date with events happening near you, so that you can plan to attend.

The Sinner's Prayer Defended

“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:8-13

The Bible over and over emphasizes calling upon the name of the Lord for salvation. In fact, the doctrine of calling upon the name of the Lord has its origins back in Genesis with the first generation of people on the earth. Adam and Eve were still alive when the Bible says men began to call upon the name of the Lord:

“And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.” Genesis 4:26

People will come along and try to say that the sinner’s prayer is unbiblical. They’ll say that praying a prayer and asking for eternal life is works. These vain janglers are actually saying that if you ask for something, it is no longer a gift.

What if I went down to the welfare office and asked for a welfare check or food stamps? Would anyone say that I earned that money? Asking for something is not earning it. There is no other area in life where we would believe that.

Look at Matthew 7:11:

“Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him"

Jesus is talking about how our children ask for things like bread or fish, and he refers to those things they ask us for as gifts.

In John Chapter 4, Jesus told the woman at the well that she would ask for living water if she knew who he was, and he called it the gift of God. If you know the gift of God, and you know Jesus, you will ask him for the gift:

“Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” John 4:11

Everyone who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is saved. Nothing could be clearer in scripture, and I’ve never said otherwise. That said, calling upon the name of the Lord is part of salvation. It’s the faith in our heart that saves us, and it is expressed out of our mouth. The prayer is a reflection of what is in our heart.

I personally believe that the attack on the sinner’s prayer is of the Devil. Giving people the Gospel using the Roman’s road and assisting them in a prayer is an effective soul winning method, so the Devil wants us to use less effective methods or perhaps become disillusioned with soul-winning altogether.

I use the tried and true Roman’s Road with a few additional verses, a strong emphasis on eternal security, and some review questions to make sure the person understands. If they say they believe, I lead them in a prayer.

Transaksi rata-rata sekarang bisa ditempuh selama antara satu sampai dua belas jam untuk mendapatkan sebuah konfirmasi. Meningkatnya permintaan untuk penyelesaian transaksi yang lebih cepat juga menyebabkan kenaikan drastis dalam masalah biaya miner/penambang.

Biaya miner yang naik membuat Bitcoin tidak layak lagi untuk transaksi micro. Komunitas cryptocurrency, merasa tak berdaya mengenai situasi pada saat ini dan melampiaskan rasa frustrasinya di media sosial mengenai meningkatnya biaya transaksi. Dalam sebuah postingan yang baru di Reddit, salah satu pengguna mengeluh mengenai biaya sebesar 23 sen untuk menyelesaikan sebuah transaksi sebesar $ 3,74. Postingan orang tersebut telah menerima beberapa komentar dari orang lain yang mengeluh akan biaya transaksi dan penundaan pada Bitcoin blockchain. Beberapa anggota komunitas juga menyatakan pendapat mereka mengenai Ethereum dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif dari Bitcoin sebagai media transfer nilai.

Jika dilihat dari statistik Bitcoin pada MemPool yang menunjukkan lag konstan setidaknya ada 50.000 transaksi. Jumlah transaksi yang belum dikonfirmasi naik melampaui 400.000, menciptakan backlog yang besar. Pada tingkat ini, tanpa intervensi komunitas pengembang, Bitcoin bisa mulai kehilangan kepercayaan pengguna dan beralih ke cryptocurrencies lain. Dan lebih parahnya lagi kebanyakan orang nanti bisa mencari media lain yang jauh lebih murah daripada membuat transaksi melalui Bitcoin.

Sekarang, kita hanya bisa berharap agar komunitas pengembang muncul dengan beberapa perbaikan yang cepat yang setidaknya untuk sementara dapat menyelesaikan masalah transaksi pada jaringan Bitcoin. Berdoa saja ya….

Garrett in Guyana: Days 11-13

The great thing about Guyana is that Muslims and Hindus there are often open to listening to the Gospel. The pastor of New Testament Baptist Church, Pastor Ram Angad, was raised Hindu but received Jesus Christ as Saviour as a teenager. Now God is greatly using his ministry, and I am praying that many more Guyanese people will be saved through our soul-winning efforts down there.

They had two great services on Sunday, which was Brother Garrett Kirchway’s 11th day in Guyana. Brother Kirchway is enjoying Pastor Angad’s dynamic preaching, and the church building is looking great with all the work they’ve been doing. 30 wooden pews have been built, and the baptistery is now finished. As of Tuesday, the 24th, the men in the church were still working late into the night—even in the rain--to finish extending the metal roof on the shed.

They came in just under budget on the materials for the new pews and roof extension, so the project was a success. Not only did they save money by not renting chairs and a tent, but they will have more permanent seating to accommodate more people as the church grows.

On Monday, Brother Kirchway went soul winning, and three people got saved including his taxi cab driver. The rest of that day he worked on his sermons.

Brother Kirchway has 14 important messages he is planning to preach during the 40-day revival, and he is almost done preparing them. One of his goals during the revival is to motivate people to read the Bible more and do more for the Lord, especially in the area of soul-winning.

Aside from the initial startup costs, the total cost per night of the 40-day Revival will be around 240 dollars. This includes providing dinner for 200-300 people as well as the cost of transporting them in vans. The neighborhood around the church has a reputation for being a rough area at night, which is why they are offering to give people a ride home after the service as opposed to having them walk. The first six days of the revival are already paid for, so they are hoping that money continues to come in, so that they don’t have to scale things down during the revival.

New Testament Baptist Church is offering prizes for those who bring the most visitors to the revival services, so lots of people are being invited. They will be giving out Bibles and other small prizes, but Pastor Ram has said that he would also like to buy four bicycles to give away. A lot of people in Guyana have never owned a bicycle, and I guess 400 people showed up once during a past promotion for the chance to win a bike.

My personal PayPal account was shut down last week. You may remember hearing that PayPal shut down the church’s account about six or seven months ago, but they figured out that I’m the pastor of FWBC, and now they’ve shut down my personal PayPal account as well.

Book Two takes you to a higher level of skill and proficiency. It builds on the first book, and gets you playing with a fuller, more complex sound.

Book Three

Book Three takes everything you learned in Books One and Two and shows you how to apply it to other songs in the hymnal without needing any sheet music. The goal of the book is to get you playing directly from the hymnal.

If you already know how to play the piano and just want to learn how to play hymns, you still need to start with Book One. Otherwise Books Two and Three might not make any sense to you. You might blow through Book One in one day if you are a good piano player, but it is foundational for the rest of the course.

Garrett in Guyana: Days 8-10

“As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.” Proverbs 25:25

It’s always great to hear from Brother Garrett Kirchway who continues to provide glowing reports on the work they are doing down in Guyana. He said he had a great time of soul-winning on Saturday with New Testament Baptist Church. Not only did they see seven people saved, but it was also a blessing to hear how excited they are about what they’ve been learning from the soul-winning seminar.

There was even a role-playing exercise before they headed out door knocking. Two people got some practice giving the plan of salvation in front of the group during that time. Other people were talking about writing out their own presentations, incorporating the techniques they learned from watching the seminars. Pastor Ram Angad has been emphasizing soul winning, so the people in the pews are getting fired up about it as well.

I cannot stress enough the importance of leadership by example in this area. Show me a soul-winning church, and I’ll show you a pastor who goes out soul winning. Show me a pastor’s wife who makes time to go soul winning, and I’ll show you a church where many of the women go out and knock doors as opposed to just the men.

“The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.” 1 Peter 5:1-4

As some of you may know from listening to his sermons, Brother Garrett Kirchway likes to stay physically fit. He gets up early in the morning to walk while it is still dark, so he got some interesting footage of cattle sleeping along the street just before sunrise. He also found a local gym and was pleased to discover that it has six squat racks. The gym is not air conditioned, but to Garrett Kirchway, that’s actually a plus. Haha. We don’t worry much about persecution on the mission field since Garrett is a force to be reckoned with. Of course, ultimately our trust is in the Lord for our safety.

They’ve been working hard every day at getting the auditorium ready for the 40-Day Revival. Some nights they stay as late as midnight since there are only a few days left until the special services begin.

Malawi Government's Position on Homosexuality

Brother Garrett Kirchway and his wife Neo are still on that exciting missions trip in Guyana, but their permanent move to Malawi is fast approaching. We all excited about officially starting the church there in April. Many souls were won to the Lord last time Garrett and Neo were there, and those new converts are eagerly awaiting the Kirchways' return.

Malawi on Same-Sex Marriage

I mentioned a while back that the Sodomites tried to spread a rumor that we are banned from Malawi because of my position on “gay marriage.” (Again, I don’t really talk about fag marriage, anyway—I talk about Romans 1 and Leviticus 20:13)

The following excerpt from Wikipedia discusses the fact that same-sex marriage has been banned in Malawi:

“On 17 April 2015, The Marriage, Divorce and Family Relations Law came into force and banned all same-sex marriages and unions. While the law was praised for raising the minimum age of heterosexual marriages from 16 to 18, it was at the same time condemned for the exclusion of homosexual couples and for its language stating that one's gender is assigned at birth. The new law does not allow people who have undergone gender reassignment surgery to marry someone of that person's prior gender and also draws comparisons of gay sex to rape and sexual harassment.”

Malawi on Immigration

The Malawi government also prohibits homosexuals from immigrating, putting them in the same category with prostitutes. The following is an excerpt from the Malawi government website regarding their immigration policy:

Part I - IMMIGRATION GENERALLY

4. Prohibited immigrants

(1)Subject to this Act, the following persons shall be prohibited immigrants and their entry into or presence within Malawi shall be unlawful

(g)any prostitute or homosexual, or any person, male or female, who lives or has lived on or knowingly receives or has received any part of the earnings of prostitution or homosexuality, or has procured men or women for immoral purposes;

36. Aiding and abetting unlawful entry

(2)Any person who commits any fraudulent act or makes any false representation by conduct, statement or otherwise for the purpose of facilitating or assisting the entry of himself or any other person into Malawi, contrary to this Act, shall be liable to the penalties prescribed in subsection (1).

Deportable Offenses in Malawi

Interestingly, sodomy is listed under deportable offenses:

12. Incest, sodomy, bestiality, indecent assault or any unnatural offence

Although the Malawi government no longer arrests their own people for committing homosexual acts, they aren’t exactly Sodomite friendly either. They consider sodomy an “unnatural offense,” they don’t let homos get married, and they certainly don’t want any more of them moving into their country. In light of these facts, I doubt the Malawi government will be surprised that, as a Christian pastor, I am also against sodomy.

2017 Akan Menjadi Tahun Yang Baik Bagi Aset Safe Haven

Emas dan bitcoin kini menjadi aset safe haven bagi para investor, meskipun dua aset ini tidak persis sama. Prospek untuk kedua aset spekulatif ini cukup baik untuk saat ini, meskipun sulit untuk memprediksi apa yang akan terjadi selanjutnya nanti.

2016 adalah tahun yang positif bagi emas dan bitcoin, apakah 2017 ini akan menjadi tahun yang baik bagi keduanya. Mungkin kedua kelas aset ini akan melanjutkan tren ke naikkannya selama beberapa bulan mendatang.

After the Tribulation Remix Contest

Calling all Techies and End Times Prophecy Buffs:

Framing the World Productions is putting on an exciting contest called the After the Tribulation Remix contest. What we want you to do is take the bonus footage from the original After the Tribulation documentary and make your own new documentary. We want you to re-edit it, revamp it, and create your own unique documentary.

Here are the official rules for the contest:

1. Start by purchasing the new edition of After the Tribulation, which includes both the DVD of the film and the companion flash drive with the bonus material. You can purchase one of these sets on Framing the Word for 39.99.

2. Edit your own film using the material from the USB flash drive. The flash drive contains extended interviews, sermons, etc. Your new film will be entitled “After the Tribulation Revisited.”

3. Your entry must be 45 minutes or longer including the credits, etc.

4. We want you to use footage that we did not already use in After the Tribulation. No more than 10 percent of what you use can be footage that has already been used. We want you to take advantage of the bonus material, so that your movie will feel like a totally different movie.

5. You can add whatever material you like from your own sources. You can make your own graphics and include your own news clips and archival footage. You can also use footage from the Book of Revelation series. You can also add your own background music. Don’t use rock music or Christian contemporary music (CCM). Use classy music if you want to win.

6. Don’t upload huge sections of the uncut USB footage to YouTube. Edit the material into your movie, and then upload your entry.

7. When you upload your entry to YouTube, be sure to upload it as: “After the Tribulation Contest Entry-Your Name.”

8. The deadline for contest entry is March 15, 2017. If there is no acceptable entry by March 15th, we’ll extend the deadline to April 15th.

9. The contest will be judged by Paul Wittenburger and me. We will determine which video we like best--It’s totally based on our whim.

10. The winning entry is going to be released on DVD and we’ll print at least 1000 copies of that DVD. Not only will you get the honor of having your DVD distributed, but you’ll get 100 of those copies plus a flight to Phoenix, Arizona to visit Faithful Word Baptist Church. That’s right, we will fly you out to congratulate you in person.

If it’s a domestic flight, meaning you live in the United States, we’ll give you two tickets, so that you and one other person can visit. If you live overseas, we will pay for just the one ticket to fly you out. If someone from Phoenix wins, we can fly you to another city to visit another awesome church.

11. There is also going to be another “viewer’s choice award.” Whichever entry gets the most thumbs ups on YouTube will receive an honorable mention and 100 dollars.

12. Many will enter. Few will win. “For many are called, but few are chosen.”

I know there’s a lot of talent out there, so I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Even if you don’t win, you are putting a version of the documentary out there and helping to spread the truth of God’s Word.
